Sharp Chief Purchasing Officer with excellent Leadership Skills and a finger on the pulse of the Wine Business

Randers, Denmark
We are looking for a sharp and sagacious Purchasing Officer whose core skills are to be a good leader and who knows what is happening in the international wine scene. A leader that is ready to take a central and important role in our organisation and that knows how to support the entire value chain from producer to customer.

You are greatly dedicated to the following:
You create value for the company through good business acumen, under which you, in collaboration with two experienced employees and the Sales Management, ensure that we count with a relevant portfolio of products, trimmed according to availability, demand and sales forecasts. This includes that you are also keen on negotiating, and enjoy direct contact with the producers, as you know, we require the best prices on the market or a higher quality for the same price or, optimally, both. You are also outreaching, have an eye for spotting new trends and, in general, are frontrunner for exploring new opportunities.

In addition, you see it as a great strength to share your know-how and information to all the companies in the group – for, sharing is caring. It is also natural for you to spar with relevant persons throughout the whole organisation. The leadership task is versatile, but you have in particular focus on developing the team, as well as relevant processes and systems in order to have a purchasing function that always supports the Sales Departments in an optimal way.

Your position will include:
• 20-40 travel days per year (among others to visit producers, fairs, subsidiary companies, etc.)
• Direct leadership of two experienced employees
• Strategic, tactic and operational tasks (incl. statistics, reports, contracts, etc.)
• Cooperation and coordination with the Chief Logistics Officer regarding stocks, incl. flow
• Handle and convey all legal information in Denmark as well as subsidiary companies, which supply products via the warehouse in     Denmark

As a person, you are:
Open, and you have a natural curiosity and interest for your surroundings. You excel in your field of work and are always ready to roll your sleeves up and go first as a leader. Just as much, you like to enrich the organisation by sharing your knowledge.

Your expertise includes:
You already sit in a wine purchasing position today – and therefore have a network in the world of wine. You perhaps also have an education in wine that complements your job. In addition, it is an advantage – but not a requirement – that you have some experience in purchasing spirits and beer. It is also a clear advantage if you also have some experience in purchasing bulk wine. You are a remarkable negotiator a strength that is particularly based on deep knowledge, insights and analysis.

What you will get is:
An exciting, fulfilling and challenging position in a dynamic company, where salary is according to qualifications. In addition to pension and healthcare schemes, you will count with attractive employee benefits. You will have direct reference to the company’s owner, Frank Søndergaard and you will also be a part of the Danish Leadership Group of the organisation. For your information, our current Purchase & Logistics Officer is now working at a new position within our organisation, thus we are searching for a Chief Purchasing Officer as well opening up a Chief Logistics Officer position.

Application deadline
Please upload your application and CV via latest on November 30, 2022. Interviews are held ongoing and employment will happen as quickly as possible. Applications in both Danish and English are accepted. Should you require further details concerning the position, contact Frank Søndergaard by telephone (+45 40504113).
